You have recently received your Alitex brochure, and you’d now like to take your project to the next level. A sales visit is the ideal way for us to understand what kind of greenhouse you are looking for. We will help you navigate the requirements for building a greenhouse and the process of getting your project underway.
How do I book a sales visit?
To book a sales visit, simply select the ‘Book a visit’ button at the top of our website, you will be taken to a short form to fill out. Alternatively, you can call the office on 01730 826900 and we can arrange a visit for you.
A sales visit is usually organised in person so we can observe the location where you want the greenhouse to be. We also offer a virtual service where you can meet one of our Sales Designers through Zoom or Microsoft Teams to discuss your project.
What will the visit include?
During the sales visit, one of our dedicated Sales Designers would ultimately be discussing four areas of your glasshouse project:
Structure
This includes discussing elements of the structure such as the style, placement, and any personalised details, like the colour and cresting choice. Your Sales Designer will talk you through the different styles we have available, including our beloved National Trust range or a bespoke design that can either be freestanding or a lean to against a wall.
The location of the greenhouse within your garden is crucial, so this will be one of the first factors your Sales Designer will discuss with you. They will look at the positioning of the site in relation to which direction your garden faces to ensure it receives enough sunlight for your plants to thrive.
Another important element will be choosing your greenhouse colour as this is all about the aesthetics and how it complements the surrounding landscape. We have a selection of powder-coated aluminum colour samples to help you get a feel for what your greenhouse will look like.
Accessories
Ensuring you have the best possible space tailored to your growing needs requires careful consideration to your internal greenhouse layout. We will be able to help you maximise the potential of your glasshouse through discussing the different accessories we have available to you, including benching, shelving and any external accessories such as cold frames and blinds.
Building Works
An important aspect covered in the visit will be your building works. This involves the foundations for your greenhouse, including the brickwork and flooring inside your structure. Whether you prefer to go for tiles or brick pavers, our Sales Designers can guide you through everything we have to offer.
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
Last but not least, your sales designer will discuss the M&E side of your project where you can cover your preferences for elements such as heating and lighting.
It may be that you’d like to run power to your greenhouse for lighting and a few sockets for plugging in portable heaters. Depending on the size of your greenhouse you may choose to install a full heating system with separate areas for different temperate zones.
How long does a sales visit last?
We allow 1 to 2 hours for a sales visit. You may choose to invite your Garden Designer, Landscaper or Builder along, meaning it may not just be the glasshouse in discussion but could be part of an overall garden project.
What can I do in the meantime?
The Grow Club
We recommend you sign up to our Grow Club which is an exclusive community we host on Facebook. On the Alitex Grow Club, you will find a mixture of members including existing customers, new customers who would be or have been in a similar position to yourself looking to purchase a greenhouse, and even those who may not have an Alitex but are like- minded gardeners who can offer you inspiration.
The Grow Club gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding your greenhouse. Although all of us here at Alitex are more than happy to answer your questions, existing customers who have experienced the process from your perspective will also be able to offer you friendly advice.
Open Mornings
At our show site in Petersfield, Hampshire, we host regular Open Mornings which give you the opportunity to view our beautiful greenhouses in person and see how they are made. You are more than welcome to come along before your sales visit takes place, as sometimes this is better because it inspire your for how you would like your greenhouse.
If you can’t make one of our Open Mornings, you can always book a private appointment to come visit our show site on another day during the week.
What happens after the visit?
Once we have visited and discussed your project in more detail, we will put together a quotation which is based on what has been discussed. Alongside this, your Sales Designer would send over example photos and drawings of similar projects we have done in the past to give you a better idea of what your finished glasshouse might look like.
There is always an opportunity to adapt and amend your quote if you would like to before finalising your project.
