National Trust Greenhouse collection
Since partnering with National Trust in 2004 we have donated over £1 million which goes towards the wonderful restoration and conservation work undertaken by the Trust. The National Trust Greenhouse collection consists of eight greenhouses in a variety of sizes and design shapes that each cater to an array of horticultural needs.
Bespoke Greenhouse projects
We produce in our view, and that of our customers, the finest greenhouses in the world. Since the 1950s when we first began, the elegant Victorian aesthetic, expert engineering and horticultural performance has come to be expected of ‘an Alitex’. We work with designers and gardeners around the world to bring their unique visions to life, from small awkward locations, a painstaking greenhouse replication to a grand statement, we have breadth and depth of experience. The National Trust standard colour palette
Our colour selection is vast, ranging from classic shades of white to muted greens and greys, and more diverse bold colours including blues and black. Please view our colour range below, all colours come in a satin finish, except for Bronze Manganese which comes in Matt as standard. If you would like a bespoke colour or finish, all we need is the RAL code, these are available at an extra cost.

Can I use my own builder for the greenhouse base?
Yes, we will provide you and your builder with a detailed ground plan and the building notes to ensure the base is constructed to the correct specification.
What kind of glass do you use and what happens if it breaks?
How much ventilation does a greenhouse need?
Ventilation is a critical part of growing under glass. Our combination of roof and side vents creates a ‘chimney effect’ inside the greenhouse that encourages air circulation and prevents unhelpful through drafts. The number of opening vents is designed according to the needs of each individual greenhouse to give the optimum level of ventilation. On larger greenhouses, vent depth can be increased accordingly and electric motors added for precision control.
