Thomas Messenger greenhouse glazing system
The Messenger greenhouse was designed and inspired by the great Victorian engineer Thomas Messenger in response to the demand for a faithful authentic replica of a traditional timber glasshouse. The Messenger greenhouse embraces modern materials and technology for structural integrity and longevity. We worked closely with conservation teams to create a stunning and durable aluminium alternative that would be accepted in a wide range of sensitive locations.
With a slightly larger profile than our Traditional and National Trust structures, the Messenger greenhouse adheres to historic Victorian design aesthetics. The nuts and bolts are hidden or ‘capped’ and the structure maintains a wooden aesthetic inside and out. It is also, naturally, the finest growing environment.

Why choose Messenger
Heritage sites and replicas
We have designed and manufactured many bespoke greenhouses that have replaced dilapidated wooden structures beyond repair. As experts in upholding traditional Victorian aesthetics, our Thomas Messenger style is often a natural choice for those who wish to replicate older structures. It is also the ideal solution for sensitive sites and in areas where planning permission is required.
