There are only a few days left for us to use the new year as an excuse to take on a new project. If you’re looking for a space that is the perfect blank canvas for your imagination to run wild and your creative flair to shine, your conservatory fits the bill. Take a look at our favourite interior design trends for 2015.
Deep Blue
The pantone colour of the year may have been Marsala, but the colour that is all over interior designers lips is blue; deep blue, royal blue, glossy blue – the list goes on. Inject a little colour or go for a whole wall.
Herringbone Print
There is a fine line between a herringbone print and chevron print, however it’s one not to cross. A subtle herringbone in two natural shades is “in”, a chunky chevron in two bold shades is “out”.
Statement Light
In a conservatory surrounded by glass, this trend should be on the top of your re-vamp list. An impressive center piece such as a statement light creates a fashionable talking point.
Jewel Coloured Fabric & Tiles
Think ruby reds, sapphire blues and emerald greens. These deep, rich colours look indulgent and can give a space a stately aura. Jewel inspired accessories with a jewel colour on the walls, feel incredibly regal.
Home Libraries
Whether they’re books to read or books for show, having a ‘feature library’ is the new trend and a conservatory is the ideal spot for one. Try ‘renaissance inspired’ for a feeling of grandeur.
Pastel Palettes
It seems pastels have been on-trend forever and they’re sticking around a little longer. Not to be overdone, a few ‘marshmallowy’ hues added to an already light and airy space works well.
Shelfie
If the selfie hysteria got you excited, you better sit down for this one; there’s a ‘geek-chic’ version on the rise – the shelfie! This new craze involves taking a photo of your book shelf and sharing online, ultimately to show off your book collection. It’s hard not to get involved, tweet us your #Shelfies @alitex!
