The Stourhead

2.6m x 5m (8’5” x 16’8”)

Named after the Palladian house and world-famous landscape garden in the care of the National Trust, The Stourhead has been designed with practicality and beauty in mind. A stunning addition to any moderate to large sized garden. The distinguished gable ended structure offers ample internal growing space.

Introducing vine wires to grow taller, climbing plants is one simple way in which you can maximise the space you have available. This method of planting also provides your structure with an attractive display of plants.

Greenhouse Details and Features

The modern design of our Victorian greenhouse range has many benefits including its solidity and sustainability. To understand how we create the perfect growing environment see the features below:
  • All Alitex greenhouses are made from aluminium, which is 100% recyclable. There are many reasons why aluminium is an ideal material to use. Its sustainable, lightweight and high strength properties are just come of the benefits. It is also once of the planets most inexhaustible resources and extremely resistant to rust and corrosion.

  • The structure is low maintenance and durable, meaning your glasshouse requires very little effort to keep it in such good condition when compared with other materials.

  • Choose from our standard range of colours for your structure to be powder-coated in. Bespoke colours are available at extra cost.

  • Every glasshouse is fitted with 4mm Toughened Safety Glass.

  • Automatic roof ventilation systems are controlled by the temperature, the wax inside expands and shrinks to push the piston in the bayliss auto vents. Working with a bayliss piston system is ideal for roof windows. Roof vents are typically positioned on the north elevation of a south facing structure.

  • Dual ventilation with manual side vents allows you to easily control the temperature inside your greenhouse. These are normally situated on the southern elevation of your greenhouse depending on orientation.

As one of the smaller greenhouses in our National Trust Collection, the Stourhead continues to demonstrate the ways in which you can become creative in order to optimise your growing space. View our full range of accessories.
