The base to your greenhouse or conservatory is just as important as the structure itself. Not only do you need to get the dimensions right so that the aluminium and glass structure will fit exactly, you need to make sure it blends in well with the surroundings. The correct materials need to be chosen along with colour and design. This is where we can help; welcome to Alitex Building Works.
All of our structures are engineered and precision is vital. A base built an extra millimetre outside of our tight tolerances will possibly need to be re-built. Our builders are used to working within these restrictions, their knowledge of the Alitex product can ensure you don’t encounter any issues later down the line. Simon, our Building Works manager, and his team are experts in their field and the service they provide gives us the opportunity to offer you a seamless project from design stage right through to planting your first seedlings.
Simon and the team will also spend time discussing the aesthetics of the base. Will a bight red brick work well against a pale blue greenhouse? Would stone be a better match to the exterior of the house opposite? There are lots of things to think about, especially if you are planning a project within a listed property and we are on hand to make the process easy, even enjoyable!
As part of our new blog, The Green Room, we will be following the journey of the Building Works department. We’ll report our quirky designs, let you know when we’ve discovered some trendy new flooring and even get to know Simon a little better. Read a bit more about our building works for greenhouses. Our building works service is offered on all our greenhouses within 100 miles of our head office on the Hampshire-Sussex border. For those further afield or starting a conservatory project, these are assessed on a case by case basis. Call Simon on 01730 826 900 for more information.
