The great thing about moving house is surely the joy of a new garden and the challenges which lay ahead.
I speak to a number of Alitex clients who have been able to start afresh, employing new ideas and trying out experimental schemes and they are genuinely excited by the challenges ahead. You might be lucky and amidst the overgrown shrubs and vegetation of your new garden find an Alitex greenhouse, perfect save for a good, thorough clean and possibly replacing the odd window or two. Should this be the case, help is at hand; Paul Hewitt is the Alitex champion of greenhouse refurbishment and “Clean and Care”, and is the man to restore your greenhouse to its original splendour.
Paul has been with Alitex for a remarkable twenty five years and has previously been involved with making and assembling many of the older style structures. This works out brilliantly well for our clients as when Paul comes to visit your inherited greenhouse he not only recognises it but probably had something to do with making it and can immediately see what can be improved upon, bringing it back up to the glory of a working greenhouse. Often, structures which are older (say, ten-fifteen years old) and have been neglected have developed leaks which can be rectified with reglazing. Paul is also able to advise on new elements which can be added to your greenhouse to bring it up to current specifications; a frequent example of this would be the plastic capping on the exterior of the older models which currently exists in aluminium as that was found to be superior. Some of our greenhouses have been around so long that they have changed function – for example, a large greenhouse in a public park in Yorkshire had been living its recent life as a tea room but it was decided to re-instate the structure to its original function as a growing environment. Paul was called upon to make the side vents work properly (amongst other things) and to ensure the smooth flow of air through the greenhouse, a factor which many of you will recognise as a unique property of an Alitex greenhouse.
Please remember that if you choose to take your Alitex greenhouse with you when you move, we can send a team of assemblers to dismantle and then reassemble (once the relevant building works have been completed) at your new property.
An investment in your Alitex greenhouse can provide lots of pleasure for the gardener and plant collector, creating the perfect growing environment. Once you have your greenhouse to the structural standard desired, or indeed if you have been using your Alitex greenhouse for a number of years, our clean and care service ensures the optimum growing environment. We are not suggesting that washing the glass down at the end of the season needs a crack team, just that after a couple of years, algae can form in the nooks and crannies and that is when you need to call Paul.
Prices vary according to what exactly needs doing and the size of the refurbishment project however for our clean and care service it is possible to structure a service and payment plan by taking out a contract where discounts apply. Contracts can be taken out for one, three and five year periods which guarantees cost. For your tailor made quote please contact Paul directly on the contact details below; he will need to visit and assess the requirements and which elements of the service your greenhouse needs. Paul travels all over the UK and as far afield as Italy and Lichtenstein; your Alitex greenhouse is an investment for now and for the future and to keep it in tip top condition is the best way forward for both the longevity of the greenhouse and for the immediate growing environment.
