Traditional Greenhouse

With a slimmer profile, Alitex Traditional greenhouses are built with a similar glazing system to our National Trust structures. However, unlike the Messenger, all metal extrusions are visible.
Our Traditional glasshouses are more flexible in terms of design and can be completely tailored to your individual growing needs.

Traditional Greenhouse Features

  • Made from low-maintenance aluminium, which is 100% recyclable.
  • All of our greenhouses are powder-coated in a colour of your choice – find out more about your colour choices.
  • Fitted with 4mm Toughened Safety Glass.
  • All of our structures from free-standing, to lean to include automatic roof vents and manual side vents.

Greenhouse VentilatioN

Vents are positioned in one vertical side in a bank. They are 0.09m deep and are operated manually using a traditionally styled aluminium link and lever system.
Vents in the roof are also set in banks and are 0.61m deep. If the greenhouse is up to 3.5m wide they are operated by temperature sensitive openers. These consist of a piston filled with a synthetic wax which expands as the external temperature heats up, opening the vent. The wax then cools as the temperature drops and the vents close.
Greenhouses that are 4.5m or wider will have roof vents that are operated by an electric motor.
