As a landscape designer, Philippa Lambert spent her time creating gardens for her many clients. So it’s no surprise that when it came to her own restoration project at Old Park on the Isle of Wight, she had big plans.

Project Overview
Her Victorian walled garden along with a two acre lake, were part of an intriguing frost-free micro-climate within the ‘Undercliffs’ of the Island, meaning sub-tropical plants could flourish in the area. Philippa had to take her time with the project and reintroduce the elements slowly. After she decided an Alitex lean-to greenhouse was the perfect instalment, it took two years to create the perfect walled garden. Cold frames were created along with a potting shed and some access paths. The long central vista, flanked by flowers on either side, was terminated in spectacular style by the 30 foot greenhouse painted a soft white, completed with cold frames either side of the door.
