Jo recently joined Alitex – you may have already spoken to her as she handles your enquiries – and she went along to RHS Wisley Flower Show last week to see our mobile greenhouse in action.
The aim is to try and give visitors an idea of what Alitex design and manufacture and to chat to interested people, inviting them down to our show site for a closer look at the real thing.
“Seeing the mobile greenhouse sitting with its cover on at our showsite in Petersfield and then transformed into a “proper”, greenhouse experience complete with flowers and pots was amazing”, said Jo (in the image with Laura).
Jo is a regular visitor to Wisley, particularly at this time of year as she visits the dahlia trial beds with her sister to remember the “big and blousy”, flowers their mother used to love. She says it is always a wonderful time of year to visit the gardens as everything is colourful and vibrant.
It was a blue sky, warm day, one of the last of summer when Jo visited and the gardens were at their most perfect. There were lots of stalls and tents, things to see and do – in fact Jo felt the show really brought the gardens alive. There was a real buzz and certainly provided another reason to visit Wisley.
It was great to chat to so many visitors at the show, lots of people had come from the locality and already knew about Alitex, but we also met some new faces as well. As Jo says “what could be nicer than a warm day out in beautiful gardens chatting to lovely people about gardening ?”
One of our greenhouse customers managed to walk away with prizes galore for his stunning dahlias.
If you missed Wisley Flower show you can still see an Alitex greenhouse there - visit the Alpine House at the top of the rock gardens, next to the vegetable crops. Otherwise come along to our open days - the next is this Saturday and your next communal opportunity is Saturday 9th November. Please do come along anytime in between these dates - just call us so we can arrange one of the team to show you around.
