Show season is now well and truly underway after a hugely successful Chelsea kicked off proceedings; now it’s time for us to switch hats and start thinking about RHS Hampton Court.
This year we will be featuring an Olive Green, Mottisfont greenhouse from our National Trust collection along with a selection of accessories and the award winning bee bricks that featured on our RHS Chelsea stand.
We are also working in collaboration with The PIG hotels, creating a stunning kitchen garden with delicious home-grown crops. The garden will take inspiration from The PIG’s trademark – 'garden to plate in a mater of moments'. The head gardener and forager work hard growing and sourcing food that the chef can turn into a sumptuous 25-mile menu, what they can’t get from their own garden, they will source within 25 miles.
Two of The PIG's ‘restaurant with rooms’ venues have an Alitex greenhouse; The PIG in the Forest and The PIG on the Beach. Their greenhouse is a hub of activity and vital in ensuring they grow the best quality crops for their diners; we are going to re-create the enviable kitchen garden that The PIG do so well on our Hampton Court stand. There will be three well stocked vegetable beds and a lively greenhouse, bursting with crops grown either by us here at our home in Hampshire or by the team at The PIG.
There will also be some other beautiful additions; the popular ‘rusty blooms’ from architectural heritage will be peppered throughout, there will be a zinc bench along with a few pots from our friends at Italian Terrace and plenty of fizz in the chiller!
