02 January 2013 By Billy Hawkins
It hardly seems two minutes ago that we were racing headlong towards Christmas, mince pies, tinsel and gifts trailing in our wake.
There is something quite peaceful about this post-Christmas early new year lull, when we have suddenly switched from decking the halls with boughs of holly to simply being still (and possibly pulling out the odd seed catalogue!)
Although to herald the new year at Alitex, we have recently had bright yellow safety walkways painted throughout the factory and overcrowded trees are being transplanted...no sitting still here!
If like me, you are feeling as though you have spent too much time inside by the fire, January is the perfect month to get out in the garden and greenhouse to do some vigorous tidying, sorting and clearing. There is nothing so good as a cold day in the garden to get the blood pumping and feeling a bit better. (The other very good reason being to work off the aforementioned mince pies.)
Garden tidied, greenhouse prepped, you may then like to join us at our forthcoming Open Morning. We are throwing our doors open on Saturday January 26th 9.30-12.30, which provides you with an opportunity to find out more about how we do things – the design, production and manufacturing side of Alitex. Please contact us to let us know if you would like to join us – in the meantime a Happy New Year to all, and we look forward to seeing you during our 60th birthday year in 2013.
