Recreating a conservatory link from house to dining room with a rotten timber structure.
This is another instance where we were replacing a rotting timber structure. In this situation it was a small conservatory that linked the main house - a classic Georgian style farm house in Berkshire - to a nearby barn conversion that acts as a dining room.
The brief was to recreate the link while creating a larger and more practical space that could be used as an entertaining and dining space in its own right.
The building works have included specific brick detail echoing the main house, and the ridge point of the roof has been finished with the clients' own weather vane to add a personal touch.
The subtle colour makes a much larger structure remain unobtrusive.
