This project was a replication of a wooden 30 metre lean-to glasshouse in a private estate in Scotland.
To research, whilst being sympathetic, a design that improved the functionality of the greenhouse rainwater guttering system and ventilation.
The general design and geographic location of the project required Alitex to fully consider the enhanced loadings that a building of this type would incur. Calculations required Alitex engineers to produce additional reinforcement to our extrusions.
The final design was able to demonstrate a sympathetic replacement whilst maintaining a high level of structural integrity and longevity – through the use of aluminium and polyester powder coating.
This glasshouse had a beautiful array of features including; hexagonal lobbies incorporating various partitioned climatic zones, replica curved beading, curved vine supports and bespoke castings of the finials and cresting.
Alitex were completely involved in the supply and installation of all the glass and aluminium plus our in-house fitting team stayed on site throughout the project.
