Following a donation form the Heritage Lottery Fund, Alitex were asked by Fulham Palace Gardens in London to design a replica of the wooden glasshouse that previously existed in their historic grounds.

To recreate the glasshouse at Fulham Palace as part of a wider and major refurbish plan.
Dealing with such a sensitive site meant that many professionals were involved, including Alitex engineers, who ran significant testing prior to manufacture so that concerns over the load on the ancient curved wall could be satisfied.
The structure was to be used extensively by the general public, therefore the design needed to consider walkways and thoroughfare as well as creating an event space in the central lobby.
Ultimately the final design had to replicate that of the existing Victorian greenhouse.
Vinci Construction, as main contractors, worked closely with our design team at Alitex to produce this fantastic example of a true Victorian glasshouse.
