Join Sarah Wain at Alitex’s headquarters in Petersfield on Wednesday 2 October for a talk about plants and crops that can be grown in greenhouses and conservatories. You will learn about extending the growing season, providing your table with fresh produce and filling your vases with freshly cut flowers.
Sarah, an expert on glasshouse growing, will explain the best general care and maintenance techniques for your garden room structures, including pest and disease management.
We’ve been in touch with Sarah to find out what you can expect to take away from the day.
What can people expect from your ‘Growing Under Glass’ experience?
The day will be an enlightening friendly experience, full of enthusiastic passion for growing under glass – from a very experienced glasshouse grower!
What is your favourite thing about growing in a glasshouse?
It’s too difficult to choose just one thing as there are many things I like about glasshouse gardening. The ability to nurture plants from sown seed to maturity, or to follow a plant passion: from orchids to tropical plants or melons to chillies. Whatever you want to grow you can! As long as you appreciate the growing conditions required.
Who should attend this talk?
All glasshouse enthusiasts are welcome, from beginners to the more knowledgeable. The talk will also cover aspects for Garden Designers who want to talk glasshouses with their clients and would like to find out more about the factors to consider before the planting stage; whilst also covering topics for those who are Estate or Community Gardeners who suddenly find themselves with a glasshouse to manage.
Should guests prepare questions or bring anything to the Garden Masterclass with Sarah Wain?
If you have any questions or want to prepare, we would love for you to email your questions beforehand to email@example.com – that way Sarah can be fully equipped to answer your question thoroughly.
