Amara is a rapidly growing e-retailer that originally started life as an interior design business and has developed into an online luxury homeware distributor. We've spoken with Sam Hood, Founder and Creative Director, to find out the trends for 2016 and how you can represent spring within your home and garden rooms.
We love the Michael Aram vases with the floral and butterfly details, what do you find trending during spring time?
Many of our customers start to think about their gardens in spring so you see many people spending time looking at various outdoor accessories. We also start to see an uplift for brighter and bolder coloured pieces - as soon as the weather, improves everyone wants to liven up their living space!
What colours for you represent spring?
Fresh greens and citrus yellows really remind me of spring - there's nothing better than fresh flowers at home in those shades.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to bring this seasons nature as a theme into their home?
You don't have to change your whole home to embrace this trend - add subtle elements such as fresh flowers and pieces in natural materials such as stone or wood. If you use sparingly you'll create a sleek modern look rather than a themed room.
What colours are best for filling a conservatory or garden room?
Try to keep it light - I always think cool cottons against bleached woods have such a calming feel. You can always add elements of colour such as grey to add a little depth and interest.
We've heard that you received Feefos gold trusted merchant award for the 3rd year running, how do you do it?
Fantastic customer service is at the heart of our business, whether we're talking to customers via email, phone, live chat or social media it's something we take very seriously and always look to go the extra mile. Our dedicated team go over and above each time for our customers making sure they receive the very best service possible.
And Lastly, do you have a personal favourit design or product at the moment?
We found a fantastic new brand in Paris this season - it's called LINA and they produce fabulous soft lounge furniture which can be used outside. They come in a variety of colours and can be altered into various shapes - perfect for the summer months!
