A day out at West Dean Gardens

West Dean Gardens in Spring 2018

This April, we picked the sunniest day out of the rainiest week, to take several customers on a tour of West Dean Gardens. Below is a little video to provide you with some insight about the day. Sarah Wain, expert horticulturalist, led the tour around the glasshouses spreading, her knowledge on growing under glass.

We've also recieved some wonderful feedback about the experience.

"Thank you for such a marvellous day at West Dean Gardens and most instructive and informative talk by Sarah Wain, her greenhouse knowledge is so extensive and I guarantee that we will put into practice her tips and recommendations."

"Sarah Wain was a most impressive person - highly knowledgeable but with a light touch and great Aussie sense of humour. We learned a lot and she answered all our questions willingly and thoroughly. As a result we are very much wiser about greenhouse management, and are looking forward to putting our new-found knowledge into practise in our lovely Alitex greenhouse."

We have one final West Dean Grow Day on Thursday 4 October. If you are not a customer of Alitex, or can't make the grow day, we thoroughly recommend a visit to West Dean Gardens. There is so much to see and learn, from the walled gardens to the original restored Victorian glasshouses and a 300 foot pergola! Visit www.westdean.org.uk/gardens to find out more.
