Here at Torberry Farm the Christmas trees and fairy lights are up and we are winding down to the festive break. We always like to recap what exciting events we attended and hosted in the year as we look toward 2020.
dive into equestrian
This year we delved into equestrian sporting events at Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire. It was our first exhibition at this type of event and our Mottisfont greenhouse proved very popular. Our structure sat in front of the show jumping course set amongst a quintessentially English, country cottage garden. We also sponsored local rider, Rachel Fisher from West Sussex, who rode Sidney Rebel in the Mitsubishi Cup.
horticultural highlight at rhs chelsea flower show
This year's Chelsea took on a different theme as we collaborated with Interior and Garden Stylist Selina Lake, celebrating the launch of our new paint colour collection with M&L Paints. Selina's unique style brought thousands to the stand where we had two structures with very different but complementing themes.
Our large lean-to structure wove the beautiful palette of The Alitex Collection by M&L Paints throughout, providing a real show-stopping floral party. Whilst the National Trust Scotney greenhouse focused on entomology and the importance of insects.
vintage afternoon tea
We donned our dresses and hosted a tea party at Goodwood Revival this year. As usual, Over the Road was buzzing with excitement for the vintage motorsport event of the year. We took our Mottisfont greenhouse, decorated with Revival memorabilia, set adjacent to a rustic dining table complete with vintage crockery. Over the three days we exhibited we had glorious sunshine, which meant many who visited our stand stayed for a glass of prosecco.
an evening with Mary Berry and Alan titchmarsh
National treasures Alan Titchmarsh and Mary Berry joined us at Alitex for an exclusive event hosted in the grounds of our show site. Both proud owners of an Alitex greenhouse, the pair shared stories of their careers, their lives and friendships with a few gardening tips thrown in. The event is most certainly one of the highlights of the year and a wonderful way to signify the end of the summer and our busiest period at Alitex.
Every year we feel very lucky to exhibit and attend some of the most wonderful events. We can't wait to tell you all what we have in store for next year.
