As a regular attendee of RHS flower shows our client first heard of Alitex at Chelsea where she visited our stand. This inspired her to embark on her greenhouse journey. Chelsea is a fantastic place to gain inspiration for your next garden design project, especially greenhouses, as we have a number of structures on display for you to peruse. It is also an excellent opportunity to discover different interior designs, layouts and accessories for your greenhouse too.

Following her visit to Chelsea Flower Show our client decided to proceed further with her greenhouse enquiry. One of the main reasons for which Alitex stood out for her, was the professionalism of our team she dealt with. In addition to this, the quality of our greenhouses was also essential to her decision. She also felt that by adding a structure of such quality to her property would greatly increase its value.

Our client decided on a full span lean to greenhouse against an 18th century wall, creating a very traditional look. To incorporate the new greenhouse into the property further, the structure was painted in a colour that was matched to the existing paint on the house windows.

This customer particularly enjoys planting flowers in her greenhouse. The first things she put in her structure were Dahlias and Aeoniums and one of her favourite things about having her greenhouse is the ability to overwinter her collection, as well as being able pot up dahlias early to get them going for flowering in early July. At the moment she is growing tomatoes, cucumbers and chilli peppers, as well as rotating scented leaf pelargoniums in and out of the greenhouse in order to care for them and improve their flowering. These, as well as tomatoes and dahlias have so far grown the best for our client, however, this is only the beginning of her growing under glass and she hopes to expand her range as she gains experience.

Our client is thrilled with her greenhouse as it has transformed gardening for her. She can bring things on in the greenhouse to then transfer to her garden and also enjoys potting up in such a pretty environment. She also loves the greenhouse for carrying out rainy day jobs while listening to the radio. One of the best things about the greenhouse is that it creates a mindful and peaceful place to be while she gardens but also just to go and relax.

“I rang Alitex and said ‘give me three good reasons why you are better’ – they did! I consider the process to have been virtually flawless.”
