It is the biggest event in the horticultural calendar and thousands flock from all over the world to see the stunning works of art at RHS Chelsea; but it isn’t just the show gardens that are up for the coveted prizes, exhibitors can also get their efforts rewarded and we are pleased to announce that this year, we won ‘Best Tradestand in Show.’
Our unique themes have been drawing in the crowds, showing them that an Alitex greenhouse is not just a structure, but a way of life. The Scotney greenhouse from our National Trust collection was transformed into a newly-weds paradise, with Stephanotis twisting throughout and a bath tub accompanied by some champagne - if only the weather was a little warmer!
The larger greenhouse was set up to resemble the same newly weds thirty years on with a ‘his and hers’ style lay out. One side a productive growing space to go with the working kitchen garden whilst the other, a beautiful display of orchids and bougainvillea.
The judges said that our stand 'captured the imagination', they were particularly enthused by the flourishing home-grown vegetables, giving them a real insight into what is achievable with an Alitex greenhouse.
We couldn’t have done it without our huge team of helpers, internally and externally. We would like to say a big thank you to:
Internal design and build team at Alitex – for creating the most beautiful structures and allowing us to showcase our largest ever Chelsea greenhouse.
John Deacon and sidekick Wes – for doing an amazing job building our stand in record time.
Clifton Nurseries – for transforming our Scotney greenhouse into a fragrant filled oasis.
Westdale Nurseries – for providing the stunning bougainvillea in our bespoke greenhouse.
A place in the garden – the Tiber fountain was a calming influence in our bespoke greenhouse.
McBeans Orchids- for lending us some of the most beautiful orchids to fill our display.
Green and Blue – the bee bricks were a hit with the crowds.
Westminster Stone – for the wonderful paving that complimented our greenhouses wonderfully.
Hansons – for the much needed bricks that keep our greenhouses upright.
Architectural Heritage – for the gorgeous rusty blooms and copper planters.
Italian Terrace - the metal benches were a popular resting spot among visitors.
Thrive – for helping us grow a delicious kitchen garden crop.
Uncle Jim – for the many hours spent nurturing the most magnificent kitchen garden.
... A final thank you to our very own Nelly – for overseeing the whole procedure and managing our fabulous award winning stand!
