It is with great pleasure that we announce the opportunity to host this fun, informative evening for the second year at Torberry.
This year we will, once again, be joined by Tony Kirkham, Head of the Arboretum at Kew, Marina Christopher from Phoenix Perennials and Ann-Marie Powell, garden designer, author and TV regular. The evening promises to be an opportunity to challenge the panel with your questions and conundrums – between them there is an enormous range of expertise and they will hopefully be well placed to resolve your queries.
Has been at Kew since 1978 and has been the Head of Arboretum for over 10 years. Tony, and his team of over thirty staff and students, are responsible for managing more than 14,000 trees in the living collection at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
A trained ecologist, Marina set up Phoenix Perennial Plants in 2002 to grow the plants that interest her most. She specialises in plants which attract wildlife into the garden, as well as plants which have something to offer the garden over a longer period.
A garden designer with a locally based practise, Ann-Marie has enjoyed great success over the years, winning an RHS Chelsea Gold (2010) and Silver Flora (2011). Ann-Marie has written a number of gardening books and appears regularly on TV gardening programmes.
It would be great if you have specific questions or plants for the panel to scrutinise, to let us know in advance.
Our evening will be chaired by head gardener Andy Lewis from the National Trust's Uppark. We are delighted to have a chair with such fantastic horticultural knowledge!
Refreshments are included and will be available from 6.30pm, ready for a prompt start at 7pm.
