We are pleased to announce that on the 15th September we will be joined by Joe Swift for our annual lecture. Joe is a highly regarded gardener and well known for presenting BBC 'Gardener's World'. Since leaving school as a fully trained garden designer Joe's career has blossomed, let's take a look at what else he's been up to.
Joe has become quite the presenter appearing regularly in the BBC's coverage of RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows, Tatton Park Flower Shows and Gardeners' World Live. He not only presents but also designs many gardens on TV, including a Comic Relief garden, several for Alan Titchmarsh's 'How to be a Gardener' series and hundreds for Gardeners' World.
Joe is passionate about gardens, the way they can influence and change people lives. He is president of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) and patron to many gardening charities including The Horniman Museum and The Harington Scheme.
It's impressive and only when we start to look at Joe's life and career, do we realise how much he really does, a very busy and influential man! He is co-founder of Modular Garden, a garden design company that not only design unique living but also manufacture and install award winning landscapes and gardens. He also writes regular columns for several magazines and is author to three books! These are; 'The Plant Room' a contemporary guide to urban gardens, 'Joe's Allotment' which follows his education as an allotment gardener and then there's 'Joe's Urban Garden Handbook' where you can learn to use every inch of space that is practical and stylish.
If you'd like to listen and learn from Joe, please do join us on the 15th September, tickets cost £10 each. There will be drinks in our garden at 7:15pm followed by the lecture at 8pm. The event will be held at our home on Torberry Farm, South Harting, Hampshire, GU31 5RG.
