As part of our on-going relationship with Thrive, the national charity that uses gardening and horticulture to change lives; we are co-hosting an exciting April event, which we hope you will be able to come along to.
Behind the Scenes at The Chelsea Flower Show: Thursday 19 April 2012
Gardens open at 09.30 for a 10.00 start
Our April event is based at the Alitex greenhouse in the Thrive gardens in Battersea Park, London. We are joined by some wonderful speakers who will let us into the secrets which make Chelsea the best horticultural spectacle on earth! (I don’t think I’m exaggerating either) I’m hoping to find out about all the highs and lows of preparing for the show, the terrific obstacles that must be overcome and how the whole show comes together.
Our Guest Speakers
Andrew Fisher-Tomlin is a Director of Fisher Tomlin and has developed a large portfolio of work since founding the company in 1989. His experience includes public spaces as well as residential gardens both as a designer and horticultural consultant. Andrew is also a Director of the London College of Garden Design, a Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers and a trustee of Thrive. Andrew will enlighten us about Chelsea preparations from a garden design and judging perspective. Andrew's award winning gardens at Chelsea combine a clever use of space with imaginative design and horticultural integrity.
Alex (Alexandra) Denman of the RHS, has the huge responsibility of managing the Chelsea Flower Show and she will certainly be able to regale us with tales of the impossible made possible through sheer will-power! Alex is also an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gardener, who also judges various horticultural shows.
Tickets are £25 made payable to THRIVE and sent to us here at Torberry, South Harting GU31 5RG
Look forward to seeing you then!
