Mechanical Design Engineer - PermanentThe role: The main aspect of the role will involve providing engineering and design solutions for the more complex greenhouse and conservatory structures. This will involve the use of 3D CAD for design and detailing and backing up this work with structural analysis and calculations where required to ensure the projects comply with relevant standards. There will also be occasional product development work to meet specific customer requirements. There could be some occasional travel to visit customer sites within the UK. Key skills and experience: An excellent mechanical engineering knowledge with more than 5 years experience in a mechanical design role is essential. Proficient in structural analysis of simple structures using hand calculations and FEA analysis software, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. Experience of working with BS6399 and BS8118 would be preferable. A working knowledge of Masterseries and/or Solidworks COSMOS would be a distinct advantage although training will be provided. 3D CAD experience is essential (Solidworks preferably)with at least one years recent continuous use in a design role. Ability to undertake both conceptual and project design work to a brief under own initiative and with minimal supervision is very important. Must be able to clearly convey design ideas and produce good quality manufacturing drawings along with demonstrating an attention to detail. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will probably have a Degree in a mechanical engineering (or related discipline). The position: Permanent position based in house at offices near Petersfield.
CNC Setter / Operator / Programmer – Heidenhain familiar preferred.We have a placement for this position available in our busy factory in Petersfield. Our ideal candidate would be familiar with all aspects of operating and setting CNC machines and have had some experience of programming. Interested?
