Alitex has been making greenhouses since 1952, we moved to our current site in the South Downs, Sussex, UK in 2001.
Up until that time we were based in Alton in Hampshire and operated the business from 2 separate sites – we painted the greenhouses and ran the business from a small office on an industrial site and we made the greenhouses across town near the station with another small office in a portacabin.
We searched for many years for the perfect location from which to run the whole business and in the late 1990s we stumbled across our current site and have never looked back!
Set in the UK on the Sussex - Hampshire border, Torberry Farm overlooks the South Downs and every one of our glasshouses and conservatories are born in this wonderful spot.
We now do everything at Torberry Farm – design, build, paint and even trial-erect every glasshouse and conservatory. We even have a show area with a Traditional Greenhouse, a National Trust Greenhouse and a Conservatory for you to visit at a time to suit you.
