Guernsey Plant Conservatory | UK
The brief was to replace a sad looking, poorly designed timber conservatory with something echoing the style of turn of the century glasshouses on the island they love, and also creating 50% more floor space.
As a result the design oversails the west end of the property creating a very light sunny space for dining, while the rest of the space is being used for growing. Planters have been built alongside the house wall to grow bougainvillea, and granite sills run along the glazed sections.
Underfloor heating has been used being powered by geothermal technology.
