We always ensure that an Alitex classic Victorian greenhouse will complement the garden and fulfil your needs, be they small or grand.
To achieve this, we believe it is essential to visit you at home to fully appreciate your unique and specific requirements. Our designs are sufficiently flexible to provide anything from a quiet refuge to a modern icon or a striking celebration of Victoriana. We can give you the height for tropical plants, the perfect structure for melons, arid conditions for cacti or a hot and humid climate for orchids.
At Alitex it is you, your garden and your plants which determine the design of your greenhouse. At Alitex, the choice is yours.
Our greenhouse designers use the latest 3D computer-aided design software to construct your ‘virtual’ greenhouse prior to manufacture.
Our engineers have access to computer-aided analysis tools.
State of the art CAD-CAM software seamlessly transfers your design data to our CNC machines.
We are particularly proud of our factory and are continually improving every aspect of our processes, equipment and training.
Our team of skilled craftsmen are at the heart of our ability to build anything from a National Trust Hidcote to some of the largest private greenhouse projects in the world. They are technically minded, possess a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of our materials.
In the paint plant, quality control is in-built as a daily discipline. Even the slightest blemish will not be tolerated. The team consistently achieve a superior quality paint finish which is polyester powder coated for a long lasting durable finish.
Our commitment to ‘lean manufacturing’ is central to our efficiency and precision. As part of that process, we invested in the finest Emmegi CNC machines for millimetre perfect precision, consistency and throughput.
We asked Jason, one of our designers a simple question: “What is good about Alitex greenhouse design?”
“When I started in design many moons ago I often had it drummed into me that design consisted of three main stages - form, function and cost."
Cost these days is not simply financial it is also ethical. Sustainability is becoming a prerequisite, not just commercially but also from a personal perspective.
In design we use industry-leading 3D CAD software to design, virtually trial and enable us to make decisions to improve our glasshouses without the cost of cutting any metal. We also use finite element analysis software (FEA) to test our structures to ensure we are getting the best structurally integral glasshouse with the minimum of added material. Helping us to maintain look, feel, use and equally important, helping to look after the planet.
We think what makes an Alitex greenhouse so great and so special are the following:
Alitex from my point of view have always been keen to listen to ideas from all areas (customers, contractors and employees) and eager to improve all areas of the business, not just in a commercial sense - you get a feel of a very strong ethical responsibility from Alitex.
It is a safe, secure place to work where investment in training and equipment is strongly seen as a way of driving the company forward and helping us to meet and exceed our commitments to our customers. We have a vast strength in depth of knowledge about our product and technology across every department. A positive ‘can do’ attitude is actively encouraged and indeed is seen as the ‘norm’ across the business.
To sum it all up, we believe Alitex uses the best trained people, latest technology combined with strong environmental responsibility to provide our customers with the best and most responsible glasshouses I believe you can buy.”
